Bluepixels Animation Studio Pvt Ltd is a production house that's situated in a coastal town in India called Mangalore . We started operations in 2009 as an arch-viz studio and also started evaluating blender and other open-source softwares as an alternative for commercially licensed products. We are a group of 9 talented artists for the moment :) . We use Linux as our main OS and also have our own in-house tools for render management and asset management. Right now we are in the process of creating our own IP(tv series) and also looking for co-production and broadcasting partners for the same.
We made project Gemini to test out blender and other opensource tools .its not completed because we used it as a test bed to conceive a commercial project. The blender version used was 2.67.
Gemini was conceived a year ago and completed within 3 months (2013).This project was done as a testing platform for many opensource tools. We had lots of fun pushing blender and cycles around to get the results we wanted. :D .

"the GOOSEBERRY project"

The Blender Institute proudly presents: "the GOOSEBERRY project".

http://gooseberry.blender.org/

Who makes it?

Blender Institute will bring together twelve indie studios from all over the world, who will contribute each using own style and cultural influences.

Work is expected to take 18 months, with 60-80 people participating full time, supported by a huge online community who will be involved and participate as well.

A Feature Film

The film is about Michel the sheep, who's longing to get an interesting life. It will be a funny, absurdist and adventurous love story, directed by Mathieu Auvray.

Script development is currently ongoing and will continue until August.

Coders and Artists

Since 2005, Blender's biggest success was to team up artists and developers to work on challenging short film and game production.

It has been this synergy – to have software developers only work on what's really needed – that makes the investment in content projects such a great development model for open source creation software.

Sharing everying

This film will be 100% owned by the makers. Benefits of a limited exploitation window will go to the people who helped realizing the film. After that, everything will be published and shared freely as Creative Commons.
